ABOUT
Born and raised by the sea in the magical town of Sag Harbor on the very Eastern End of Long Island is where I draw so much of my inspiration from. The sea often seems to emerge in one way or another in my dreamscapes. Now a resident of Pawling nestled in the hills of the Harlem Valley and The Great Swamp watershed. I find new influences emerging in my artwork through hiking along the Appalachian Trail.
It is the creative process itself that I enjoy the most. Sharing this with others lead me to enter the field of art education where I hope to inspire others to discover their mediums and creative voices. My students at Fox Lane High School provide me with endless interpretations of the world, joy and wonder. I feel so fortunate every single day to be doing what I am passionate about.
I continue to pursue life changing experiences as an artist. In 2016 i had the opportunity to study mosaic at Orsoni Tile Factory in Venice through a grant. This inspired me to pursue creating large scale public mosaic murals. I had the honor of learning with Isaiah Zagar creator of the Philadelphia Magic Gardens and learning his methods leading me to the creation of The heART Project. Currently I am exploring stained glass.
The heART Project, a community arts program aspires to bring communities together through the creation of mosaic murals. Mural sites currently include Fox Lane High School in Bedford, NY and The Dorothy Day Hospitality House in Danbury, CT.
